International companies

The agri-food industry employs 6,000 people in Moselle. The region benefits from a strategic logistical position at the heart of a dense basin of 90 million European consumers within a 300 km radius.

315 MILLION EUROS OF EXPORTS IN 2021

The department of Moselle represents 315 million euros of exports for the agriculture and food sector in 2021.

It benefits from a diversified and productive agriculture, with nearly 3,000 farmers and the development of short circuits, quality labels (MOSL Quality, AOC Moselle, red label, IGP Mirabelle de Lorraine, etc.) and organic farming (e.g. Biogam dairy products unit).

It is supported by well-developed land, rail and maritime infrastructures (New Port of Metz, the leading river port for cereals in France). Several international groups are located there:

MALTEUROP or INVIVO (BOULANGERIE NEUHAUSER) for cereal processing,
AGRIAL, SODIAAL or DANONE for dairy products,
BIGARD for the meat industry,
ROYAL UNIBREW (Lorina, leader in the premium soft drinks market), etc. for the beverage industry.
Moselle also attracts dynamic small and medium-sized bakeries and delicatessens such as LA FOURNÉE DORÉE, CHARCULOR, CHARCU-PAC and FLAMM’TOP (the French leader in frozen flambé tarts).
